MKCK Celebrates Its 13th Annual Day and Annual General Body Meeting


The Mudla Konkani Canara Kutam (MKCK) celebrated its 13th Annual Day and Annual General Body Meeting (AGM) on 28th June 2026 at the R&R Complex, Bengaluru. The event commenced at 10:30 AM, bringing together members of the community and their families for a memorable day of fellowship, celebration, and cultural pride. The programme was gracefully emceed by Mr. Mathias Sanj Lobo, whose lively and engaging presence kept the audience entertained throughout the event. The Annual General Body Meeting began by giving glory to God through a beautiful Konkani hymn led by Mrs. Ephrona Dias, Mrs. Carol Dias and Mrs. Linet Sequeira, setting a prayerful and reverent tone for the proceedings.

The AGM was presided over by President Mr. Richard V. Sequeira, who warmly welcomed the gathering and presented the agenda for the meeting. General Secretary Mrs. Ayeshia Fernandes presented the Annual General Report, highlighting the association's activities and achievements during the year, while Treasurer Mr. Sudheer Fernandes presented the audited financial report for the financial year 2025–26.

Following the AGM, the Annual Day celebrations commenced with a soulful Konkani welcome hymn rendered by Mr. Arwin Fernandes, accompanied by Mr. Kenneth Dias on music, creating a joyful and spiritually uplifting atmosphere.

The programme was graced by the presence of Mr. Anthony Gonsalves, Chairman of FKCA; Mrs. Sharon Rego, Vice Chairperson, FKCA; Mrs. Zaveena Lobo, Secretary, FKCA; Mr. Nishal Preetham D'Souza, Cultural Secretary, FKCA; Mr. Silvian Noronha, Past Chairman of FKCA and current President of IKK; Mrs. Sharmila D'Souza, Secretary, KCWA; Mrs. Diana Saldanha, Secretary, IKK; Mr. Arun Fernandes, President, Koncab; Mr. Vinu Suvaris, Cultural Secretary, Koncab; and Mr. Irwin, Cultural Secretary, KCA Mathikere.

A special welcome was extended to the four new families who joined the MKCK family during the year. The association also recognised the academic excellence of its young members by felicitating Galen Sean Fernandes for securing 90% in the ICSE Class X Board Examinations. The Sports & Cultural Secretary, Ms. Smruthi Mirium Dsouza, announced and felicitated the winners of the Let's Smash – Edition 0.3 Badminton Tournament, presenting certificates and medals to champions across various categories. With participants ranging from 5 to over 70 years of age, the tournament truly reflected the spirit of sportsmanship, inclusivity, and community participation across generations. She also announced the top three winners of the Online Summer Drawing Contest for children between the ages of 2 and 15 years, recognising and encouraging their creativity and artistic talent.

The cultural programme added colour and excitement to the celebration with a variety of captivating performances. The audience enjoyed melodious solo singing by Sherin DCunha, Mr. Vincent Dsouza, and Aaron Fernandes, followed by a delightful duet by Mr. Vincent Dsouza and Mrs. Ephrona Dias. The younger members of the community charmed everyone with energetic dance performances by Sherin Dcunha and Jeanna Dsouza, while Avalynn Rodrigues and Shanell Fernandes enthralled the audience with a lively fusion dance. Mr. Kenneth Dias provided musical accompaniment for all the singing performances, adding to the vibrancy of the cultural segment.

The celebrations concluded with a heartfelt Vote of Thanks delivered by Vice President Mr. Henry Dias, who expressed his sincere gratitude to the chief guests, office bearers, members, volunteers, performers, sponsors and MKCK families who contributed to the success of the event. Following the formal proceedings, the gathering enjoyed a sumptuous non-vegetarian lunch, providing an opportunity for members and their families to share conversations, laughter, and cherished moments of fellowship. The festive spirit continued with lively Konkani baila music, which brought everyone to the dance floor and created an atmosphere filled with joy, camaraderie, and togetherness.

The 13th Annual Day and Annual General Body Meeting once again reflected MKCK's unwavering commitment to preserving and promoting Konkani culture, strengthening community bonds, and fostering a spirit of unity among its members. The event concluded on a memorable note, leaving everyone with fond memories and renewed enthusiasm for the association's future initiatives, celebrations, and continued service to the community.
