Bengaluru, March 1, 2026: The Sezari Konkani community organized a spiritually enriching
Konkani Lenten Retreat at Holy Eucharist Church, Bommanahalli, drawing faithful members for
an afternoon of reflection, prayer, and fellowship.
The retreat commenced at 11:15 am with an inspiring preaching session by Rev. Fr. Lancy Noel
Rebello, OFM Cap., who led the faithful into a deep reflection on the significance of Lent. His
first session, held until 1:00 pm, focused on repentance, renewal, and strengthening one’s
personal relationship with God.
At 1:00 pm, participants were treated to a sumptuous home-made lunch, thoughtfully arranged
by the organizers. The fellowship over the meal added warmth and community spirit to the
spiritual gathering.
The second session of preaching began at 1:30 pm and continued until 3:00 pm. During this
time, Fr. Lancy guided the congregation through deeper reflections and helped prepare them
spiritually for the Sacrament of Reconciliation.
From 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm, the church atmosphere turned prayerful and contemplative during
Eucharistic Adoration, held alongside confession. Many faithful took this opportunity for silent
prayer and spiritual reconciliation.
The retreat culminated with a solemn Konkani Mass from 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm, bringing the
day’s spiritual journey to a meaningful close.
The liturgical celebrations were enhanced by a melodious choir beautifully led by Mr. Dolphy
D’Souza, with Mr. Royston Fernandes on the keyboard, accompanied by members of Sezari.
Their music added depth and devotion to the entire retreat experience.
The program concluded at 5:00 pm, marking the end of a grace-filled day that left participants
spiritually renewed and united in faith.
